On 12 November 2025, they organised the side event &#8220;Early Warning, Anticipatory Action and Risk Insurance for Proactive Risk Management&#8221; alongside African partners, including the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) and the African Centre of Meteorological Application for Development (ACMAD). In his presentation &#8220;Early Warning for Droughts with S2S Predictions: Current Achievements and Regional Co-design in Africa&#8221;, Prof. Dr. Harald Kunstmann, Project Coordinator of SPS Blue Nile, highlighted the significance of these forecasting methods for proactive climate action in Africa.
